Week 4- Ghost in the Machine
This week we have researched on the differences between hard drives such as SATA, SCSI, and SATA, and PATA. Within today’s market, the majority of laptops and desktops use SATA hard drives to have more capacity. If you need speed and transfer rater, SCSI and SAS hard drives work great. As for this ghost in the machine, what does this really mean?
Well, as our knowledge progresses to the functions of computer components, we may have issues that we can’t figure out. Through this process of investigating and discovery, we tend to find the root cause of why a computer may not run the way we want it to be. Almost like the movie “I, Robot”, where a Robot starts to develop and sense feelings. Throughout this movie, they tried to make the robot do tasks, yet he has progressed and is so unique to other robots that he had a mind of its own.
Well, back to computers! We tend to find the root cause of the issue through diagnostics and troubleshooting, yet as we do a deep dive, we end up looking at our motherboards. We may never know if it is a new software update, or a component.
